Quality Assurance
Every Paramount Foams batch is checked in-house and validated by NABL-accredited laboratories against international standards before it leaves the factory.
Standards
European Directive (EU) 2015/863 Annex II, recasting 2011/65/EU. Tested for lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE, and the phthalates DBP, DEHP, DIBP, and BBP.
NABL-accredited test report
Measures how much a material contributes to fire growth as a fire propagation index. Our XLPE foam recorded an index of 3.48 against the I < 12 limit, with every sub-index below 6, achieving Class 0.
NABL-accredited test report
Classifies the surface spread of flame across a material. Our XLPE foam recorded no flame spread, achieving Class 1.
NABL-accredited test report
Third-party testing is carried out by NABL-accredited laboratories, including Spectro Analytical Labs (part of Eurofins Scientific). RoHS and the BS 476 Part 6 and Part 7 fire results above are taken directly from accredited test reports.
Our Process
Incoming resin, blowing agent, and additive batches are tested for melt-flow index, moisture content, and purity before being admitted to production.
Resin, blowing agent, crosslinking agent, and masterbatch are precision-weighed and compounded in a twin-screw extruder. Melt temperature and pressure are monitored continuously.
The extruded sheet passes through a controlled-temperature oven where crosslinking and foam expansion occur simultaneously. Cell size and density are determined at this stage.
Every batch is tested for density, thickness, and visual defects. Third-party samples are sent to accredited laboratories for mechanical and flammability testing on a scheduled basis.
