Specifying thermal & sound insulation foam
This is our range of XLPE insulation foam: thermal insulation foam and sound insulation foam built on one closed-cell cross-linked PE insulation platform. A single sheet does three jobs that would otherwise need three materials. It slows conductive heat transfer at 0.034 W/m·K, it blocks vapour so condensation never forms on the cold surface behind it, and it deadens structure-borne noise. On a chilled water line or a metal roof deck those three requirements always arrive together, which is why one material tends to beat three.
The choice within this range comes down to where the insulation sits and what it has to survive. HVAC insulation for concealed duct and pipe runs takes bare foam or a foil facing. Exposed outdoor runs need a UV barrier film. Projects held to a fire specification need our fire-retardant foam grades, which carry BS 476 Part 7 Class 1 and BS 476 Part 6 Class O. Roof and under-deck work benefits most from a reflective aluminium facing, because on a metal building radiant gain, not conduction, is the dominant load.
Every grade below is produced at our Sonipat plant and tested in house before it ships, with third-party validation from NABL-accredited laboratories against the standards a specifier is likely to be held to.
