Pipe Insulation Foam
Pipe insulation foam is a pre-formed cross-linked polyethylene tube sized to fit standard refrigerant, water, and air-conditioning lines. The closed-cell wall is waterproof and acts as its own vapour barrier, so chilled lines stay dry on the outside and hot lines stay hot down the run, with low thermal conductivity holding losses to a minimum. Tubes are light, soft, dust-free, easy to cut and install, and odourless. They are available with a longitudinal slit for retrofit and can be supplied with an aluminium foil jacket where radiant heat or UV exposure is a concern.

Common questions about Pipe Insulation Foam
What pipe sizes do you cover?
Internal diameters from 6.3 to 88.9 mm, with wall thicknesses of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 50 mm. Lengths are cut to requirement.
Do I need the aluminium foil jacket?
Specify it for exposed runs, outdoor runs, and anywhere the insulation needs mechanical or UV protection. Concealed indoor runs generally do not need it. The jacket also adds a radiant barrier and improves the vapour seal.
Is it suitable for chilled water lines?
Yes. The closed-cell structure resists moisture ingress, which is the failure mode that destroys open-cell insulation on cold lines. Working range is -40 to 80 degrees C.
What fire ratings are available?
Class A and Class B grades are both produced. Tell us which standard the project is being certified against and we will supply the matching grade with test documentation.
