Thermal & Sound Insulation

XPE/XLPE Foam Tube for Insulation

Our XPE/XLPE foam tube for insulation is a closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene sleeve engineered for air-conditioning systems, water piping, HVAC ductwork, and automotive AC lines. It pairs an EPE and XPE/XLPE foam core with a corrugated XPE/XLPE outer skin for abrasion resistance and easy handling, and is Class B1 fire rated, anti-UV, and heat resistant, with optional custom printing for system identification. We supply it in continuous lengths to suit any project, from a single coil through to bulk reels.

Common questions about XPE/XLPE Foam Tube for Insulation

What insulation thickness is available on the foam tube?

3 mm to 35 mm, in lengths from 2 m and cut to whatever the job requires.

What facings can the tube be supplied with?

XPE/XLPE foam laminated with a UV barrier film, metallised film, aluminium foil, or Alupet. The facing is chosen by where the run sits: foil for radiant heat and vapour, UV barrier film for exposed outdoor runs.

Does it meet fire safety requirements for building services?

Yes. Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476 Part 7 and Class O fire propagation to BS 476 Part 6, with an oxygen index of 27.7 percent to ASTM D 2863. It is RoHS compliant and contains zero CFCs and HCFCs.

How well does it resist condensation?

Water vapour resistance factor is 12805, which is high enough for chilled water and refrigerant lines where stopping vapour drive is the whole point. Thermal conductivity is 0.0314 W/m.K at 23 degrees C.
